* The minimum required amount of investment into real property in Grenada can be reduced to US$ 220,000 in case a joint investment is made into a single piece of property. The development project that this property is a part of shall be approved by the Grenadian Government for the citizenship-by-investment purposes. Minimum two investors shall participate in the joint investment scheme. Thus, the overall cost of the property shall be at least US$ 440,000.

Every applicant for citizenship of Grenada must pass in-depth due diligence checks. In addition, a complete package of application documents should be submitted to the Citizenship by Investment Unit in Grenada.

Sign the service agreement and collect the application documents

Submit the application
(1-2 weeks)When the complete application document package is sent to Grenada, it will be submitted to the Citizenship by Investment Committee. At this stage, the applicant for Grenadian citizenship by investment has to pay the state duties and other fees that include the due diligence fee.

(3-6 months)All applicants for Grenadian citizenship and their dependents have to undergo strict security checks. The information that they have supplied in the application documents has to be checked for accuracy and completeness. No personal interview is required to obtain citizenship of Grenada.
The application is provisionally approved
(1-2 weeks)When the application has been processed by the Unit and the decision has been made, the applicant will obtain an approval letter from the Government of Grenada via the immigration agent.
The applicant makes the Investment
(1-2 weeks)If and only if the application is approved, the applicant has to meet his/her financial obligations, which amounts to making a donation to the NTF or completing the purchase of property in Grenada.
Grenadian passport is issued to the new citizen
(1-2 weeks)When the financial obligations have been fulfilled, the main applicant and his/ her dependent family members will be issued Grenadian Citizenship Certificates. The immigration agent will take the Certificates to the passport office that issues Grenadian passports. No visit to the Grenada is required to pick the passports, as the agent will send them to the agreed-upon address by courier service.

If the applicant has had a prison sentence or has a criminal record, the application may be rejected. If the applicant fails to pass the security checks, the application will be rejected. Sometimes, the immigration authorities explain the rejection based upon national security concerns. At other times, they reject the application if they discover that the applicant has provided false or incomplete information when submitting the application documents. If the applicant has been denied a visa to one of the countries that Grenada has visa-free arrangements with, he or she will not be able to acquire citizenship of Grenada until they acquire a visa to the country that has denied it before.
If at a later point in time, it is found out that the applicant had supplied false information in the application documents, citizenship of Grenada can be revoked. The same can happen in case an economic citizen of Grenada damages the international reputation of the country.
