Acquire an Investor Visa to the United Arab Emirates

We invite you to consider the opportunity to acquire an Investor visa to the United Arab Emirates. The visa serves as a temporary residence permit in the country. You will be eligible to apply for an Investor visa if you register a company in the UAE. Please note that you cannot make an offshore-registered company the founder of the UAE company.

When you hold an Investor visa to the UAE, you can acquire temporary residence permits for the members of your family too. Of course, some paperwork will be required for this purpose. You will have to supply documents that confirm the relations of kin. This applies to your spouse, your children, your parents, and other relatives. Besides, you will have to prove that you have residential accommodations in the UAE where your family can live. Thus, you will have to supply a rent agreement or a property ownership certificate when applying for residence permits for your family members. All the application documents need to be legalized.

UAE Visa

In addition to that, you can obtain visas to the UAE for company employees in case you are planning to engage in business operations in the country and you need staff.

Yours does not have to be an active company, however. The requirements that you have to comply with are as follows: visit the UAE at least once every six months and pay the annual company registration extension fee. That is it. Please also note that a company registered in the UAE can be fully owned by a foreign national (or foreign nationals).

An Investor visa to the UAE is valid for three years and it can be extended when the period expires.

How should you go about acquiring an Investor visa to the UAE?

As we have noted above, you have to register a company in the UAE to qualify for an Investor visa. Now, to be able to register a company in the country, you have to acquire an entry permit such as a tourist visa, for example. We will be happy to assist you in solving both tasks.

Register a company in the UAE

Depending on how many UAE visas you need, you may want to consider one of the following options:

Acquire an entry permit to the UAE

If you have visited the United Arab Emirates before (and there is a stamp in your passport that confirms this fact), we can register a company for you remotely. That means that you would not have to be personally present in the UAE when the company is registered in your name. You will have to visit the country to have the visa stuck into your passport though.

If you have never been to the UAE before, you will have to pay a personal visit to the country to be able to apply for an Investor visa. We will be happy to assist you in acquiring an entry permit to the country.

We will apply for the permit on your behalf before you travel to the UAE and you can pick in up at the airport. Please note that we will need the information about the date of your visit to the UAE. The customs officer will stamp your entry permit and this will make you eligible to apply for a Resident Identity Card (aka Emirates ID) that comes together with the Investor visa.

You will have 60 days to do that. Within this timeframe, you will have to submit your fingerprints to the local police authorities, take a medical examination, and collect all the documents required for obtaining an Investor visa.

Acquiring a Resident Identity Card (Emirates ID)

A Resident ID is required to get an Investor visa to the UAE. You can apply for it at any immigration office in the country. You will have to bring the original of your entry permit and your passport.

After you have applied for a Resident ID, you have to contact any of the Emirates ID Authority centers and submit your fingerprints there. In addition, they will take a photo of you.

The Resident ID is going to be valid for three years: the Investor visa validity term is the same. Issuance of a Resident ID normally takes from one to three weeks.

Medical examination required for obtaining an Investor visa to the UAE

A medical exam is necessary for acquiring an Investor visa to the UAE. You will have to fill in an application form, submit the original of your entry permit to an authorized medical institution as well as your passport and two photographs. You will have to give a blood sample and take some other tests. The medical exam results can be acquired within two hours to two days depending on the kind of service package that you choose (regular, urgent, or VIP).

Documents required for obtaining an Investor visa to the UAE

The lists of documents required for obtaining an Investor visa will vary depending on the place of company registration (the particular Free Trade Zone) and the company ownership form. The standard package includes the following documents:

  • A copy of the company license.
  • Passport copies for all company owners (if the company is founded by more than one individual).
  • Photographs for all applicants.
  • A legalized copy of the education certificate. Please note, that this requirement is not so stringent. Every FIZ in the UAE will have a list of positions that do not require education certificates.

The cost of obtaining an Investor visa to the UAE

The cost will depend on the particular FIZ where your UAE company is registered:

  • Creative City FIZ – from AED 5,770 (USD 1,580).
  • RAKIA FIZ – from AED 4,550 (USD 1,245).
  • UAQ FTZ — from AED 3,320 (USD 910).

When you register a company in the UAE, acquire a Resident ID, pass the medical examination, and submit all the required application documents, your Investor visa will be stuck into your passport.

Rejection of an application for an Investor visa to the UAE

The UAE immigration authorities can reject a visa application without any explanations. Usually, it is done for national security purposes. The ‘risk group’ are citizens of Middle East countries and those who were born in the Middle East but relocated to another place later in life. People with Arab names may also face troubles when applying for Investor visas to the UAE.

In some cases, the visa application does not have to be necessarily rejected but the application processing time may increase. If a visa application has been turned down once, the person is eligible to apply again at a later point in time.

Entry permit validity term

We would like to stress that the entry permit is valid for 60 days only. Within this period, you will not only have to cross the UAE border (enter the country) but you will also have to pass through all the official procedures and collect all the certificates and other required documents. So please do not procrastinate.

The same applies to your UAE company employees. They will be eligible for visas to the UAE if they are foreign citizens but they will have to go through the same procedure and supply the same set of application documents. Moreover, they will have to bring their job contracts too.
