“Plan B” no worse than Elon Musk’s

Some dramatic things are totally unpredictable and too powerful. However, some problems are less overwhelming, and we can try to prevent or mitigate damage from those with our carefully crafted “Plan B”. Elon Musk believes that humanity can disappear at any moment. In this article we are going to study the plan “B” created by the billionaire for himself and learn how we can prepare our own “ultimate insurance”, inspired by Musk’s example.

Elon Musk's Plan B

What Is Elon Musk Preparing for?

About 251 million years ago, the Permian extinction wiped out about 96% of biological species on Earth. Scientists call this event the “great extinction”. It is believed that it was caused by a volcanic eruption in Siberia, during which more than 750 billion liters of molten lava erupted to the surface of the planet.

The eruption released large amounts of sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. As a result, the temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and the World Ocean rose. Acid rains started. Almost nothing survived. Paleontologists say this event set life on Earth back 300 million years.

And this was just one of five mass extinctions that have occurred in the entire history of our planet. The most famous of these events occurred at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 66 million years ago. That’s when the dinosaurs became extinct.

Today, Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla, believes that another mass extinction is coming. And in this connection, he has devoted himself to saving humankind. A few years ago, Musk gave an exclusive interview to Rolling Stone magazine about his troubled childhood, his fear of never finding someone to love him… and the impending doom of the Earth.

At times, Musk’s actions can seem a little too eccentric, but you have to give him the credit for one thing: the technologies that the billionaire invests in are really cutting-edge and well-intended. From electric vehicle company Tesla to Solar City’s solar-powered energy business, Musk’s businesses are aimed to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and make the air cleaner.

In addition, Musk is funding the development of the Hyperloop public transport system, which is based on the concept of a vacuum train. When this idea is implemented, we will be able to forget about traffic jams and will get the chance to travel much faster.

The billionaire co-founded the artificial intelligence research company OpenAI, which is widely known for creating the ChatGPT chatbot. Musk also co-founded the neurotechnology company Neuralink, which creates brain-computer interfaces. The billionaire also got a lot of attention in the media and on social networks for purchasing Twitter for $44 billion, after which Musk appointed his dog as its new CEO.

However, it is not technology that is in the center of his attention. Here is what he said in the interview to the Rolling Stone:

“Climate change is the biggest threat that humanity faces this century, except for AI,” he continues. “I keep telling people this. I hate to be Cassandra here, [note: the Trojan princess in ancient Greek mythology endowed by Apollo with the gift of prophecy, Cassandra foresaw and predicted the fall of Troy], but it’s all fun and games until somebody loses a f**ing eye.”

Musk fears that artificial intelligence could enslave humanity. Perhaps he is afraid to see a future society similar to those depicted in Hollywood blockbusters like The Matrix or The Terminator. And this is one of the reasons for creating SpaceX – a private company that, apart from other minor things, deals with developing space travel. If the situation on Earth becomes catastrophic, Musk will theoretically be able to get into a rocket and leave the planet. Here’s what he said about it in an interview to the Rolling Stone magazine:

“And if we were a multiplanetary species, that would reduce the possibility of some single event, man-made or natural, taking out civilization as we know it, as it did the dinosaurs. […] Unless you’re a cockroach, or a mushroom, or a sponge – you are f**ed. It’s insurance of life as we know it, and it makes the future far more inspiring if we are out there among the stars and you could move to another planet if you wanted to.”

Let’s not bother assessing the feasibility of Elon Musk’s fears. The bottom line is that the billionaire sees colossal risks, which are confirmed at least partially by real data. And instead of panicking about it, or worse, ignoring the danger, Musk is taking very measured and rational steps to do something about it.

The billionaire wants to make sure that humanity has a “Plan B” on another planet in case the doomsday scenario involving planetary extinction actually occurs due to climate change or because of the appearance of something similar to the cinematic “Skynet”. In his own words, it’s “the ultimate insurance policy.”

Create a Plan “B” Following the Billionaire’s Example

Even if the Armageddon predicted by the billionaire never comes, humanity probably won’t be worse off with cleaner air, more energy-efficient vehicles, fewer traffic jams, and interplanetary travel across the vast outer space.

This is the hallmark of a great Plan B: it turns out useful no matter what happens or doesn’t happen in the future. This logic applies to almost any potential risk, from the possible bankruptcy of the pension system to sudden armed conflicts.

Like Musk, everyone would like to have the “ultimate insurance”. Even if the dying pension system miraculously survives, a prudent layman will not be worse off from having some extra retirement savings. There are no downsides to this strategy.

In the same way, there are no downsides to obtaining a second citizenship, which would allow you to live, work, and invest in several different countries. A second passport helps you travel light and quickly evacuate from war or cataclysm zones.

In addition, there is nothing wrong with distributing assets across multiple jurisdictions to increase their protection and legitimately reduce tax payments. It is also highly prudent to own non-accountable assets, including cash and gold. This will provide reserve savings that are not tied up in any payment systems – “for a rainy day”.

Collection of Passports Like Musk’s

Dreaming of an “alternate home” for humankind outside the Earth, the billionaire does not reject more trivial tools for geographical diversification of risks right here, on our planet. For example, multiple citizenship. Musk is the owner of passports of 3 states at once: South Africa, Canada, and the USA. If other planets start issuing passports, the billionaire will definitely be among the first to take advantage of the offer.

Other wealthy and famous people also collect citizenship. For example, an Internet entrepreneur Pavel Durov, who became famous as the creator of Telegram messenger and the social network VKontakte. In addition to his original Russian passport, there are other documents at Durov’s disposal: the citizenship of the Caribbean island state of Saint Kitts and Nevis, as well the passports from France and the United Arab Emirates.

The Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, in addition to her US citizenship, has a Cambodian passport. The actor Tom Hanks, who is no less famous, also has dual citizenship: he is a citizen of the US and Greece.

We could make quite a long list of well-known holders of multiple citizenships. A lot of articles on our portal are devoted to this topic. However, it is important to remember that many holders of passport collections prefer not to advertise information about multiple citizenships. By maintaining confidentiality, you can make your Plan B more efficient and reliable.

Fast and Anonymous Second Citizenship in the Caribbean

From the next pandemic and food shortage problems to a nuclear war, the Caribbean can become an excellent “alternate home” in crisis. Located at a considerable distance from the mainland, the region has generous fertile land and year-round warm weather.

But the most important advantage is, perhaps, the opportunity to obtain a second citizenship in the Caribbean quickly, remotely, and completely anonymously. All one has to do is to use the Caribbean citizenship by investment program. The offer is available to people originating from a wide variety of countries and regions.

You can take advantage of this offer in Grenada. The process of obtaining a Grenadian passport lasts only 3-6 months. The applicant is free to choose among the following financial options:

  • a non-refundable contribution to the state fund – $150,000;
  • 5-year investment in real estate projects pre-approved by the authorities – $ 220,000 (available for a group of 2+ applicants for the “golden passport”);
  • individual 5-year investment in pre-approved property – $350,000.

The numbers shown above do not include due diligence and application processing fees, or the fee of the agent hired by the candidate (applications are submitted exclusively through immigration agents licensed in the host country). When adding dependents (a spouse, children, parents, brothers or sisters) to your application, be prepared that the total size of the fees will increase accordingly.

Citizenship of Grenada allows you to freely enter the UK, the European countries that are part of the Schengen agreement, and even China. Grenadians are also eligible for the popular US non-immigrant E2 business visa. But to get it, you will have to actually stay in Grenada for 3 years and become a tax resident of the Caribbean jurisdiction.
