Dubai is a major tourist destination. And this is a city that everyone should see at least once in a lifetime.
Dubai was a desert outpost but has grown into a world-renowned business, entertainment and cultural hub since then. People come here to get a good deal or to open a business, for entertainment in a sleepless city, or just to soak up the sun.
Here are some interesting places to visit if you decide to travel to Dubai in 2022.
Burj Khalifa
Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. Its height is 829.8 meters. Of course, it’s not one of the seven wonders of the world, but close to it.
Dubai Mall
Dubai is famous for its many malls, but this one is the most prestigious. This is the largest and most visited shopping and entertainment complex in the world. It houses over 1,200 retail stores, as well as other attractions such as a 22-screen cinema, a huge aquarium, an underwater zoo, an indoor theme park for kids Sega World, an Olympic-sized ice rink and Dubai Fountains to top it all off. The mall hosts two festivals every year:
- Dubai Shopping Festival (January and February)
- Dubai Summer Surprises (July and August).
Dubai Museum
If you’re looking to get away from the city’s glitz and glam and travel back in time, head to the Dubai Museum. The museum is located in Al-Fahidi Fort, built in 1787 to protect Dubai Creek. Previously, this fort served as a garrison, the seat of government and a prison. Among the museum’s collections, you can see ancient maps of Dubai and other emirates, ancient weapons and exhibits reflecting much of the city’s life and history.

Dubai Creek
The creek divides the city into two parts, northern and southern, Deira and Bar Dubai. It is an important element of Dubai’s history, as well as one of the few remaining vestiges of its economic past.
The Dhow Pier is where traditional dhow boats docked to load and unload their cargo after a trip.
Burj Al Arab
Burj Al Arab, which translates as Tower of the Arabs, is the tallest hotel and the fourth tallest building in the world. Its height is 321 meters. It was designed to resemble the waving sail of a dhow boat. Even if you don’t stay there, this building is a must-see when traveling to Dubai.
Jumeirah Beach
Jumeirah Beach is a beautiful white sand beach in Dubai’s Jumeirah area. It is a popular tourist destination as it is ideal for picnics and relaxation. While on the beach, you can visit Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Shif, the home of the late Rashid bin Said Al Maktoum.
House of Dubai Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum
Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum’s House is a fascinating historic building built in 1894. This is the grandfather’s house of the current ruler of Dubai. The house has been restored and turned into a museum. Inside it, you can find many ancient buildings, antiques and souvenirs from old Dubai.
Dubai is full of exciting sights and glitz, while perfectly integrating its culture into modernity. This is a fantastic destination, sure to please any holiday maker, but unfortunately, it’s not a budget option if you’re looking for it. In Dubai, you don’t have to think too much about where to spend your money because the city is so beautiful that it would be unbearable to just walk away from the sparkling shops in malls or chic restaurants. This megapolis is constantly expanding, erecting futuristic constructions and amazing sights.
