The US Department of State and the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a Memorandum of Understanding
On January 5, 2023, Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic and US Ambassador Christopher Hill signed a Memorandum of Understanding. During a press conference dedicated to this event, the Serbian minister stated the need to intensify contact between his country and the United States.
At the same time, he said that he was satisfied with the current level of economic cooperation between the two countries. According to him, about 30,000 people are employed by American companies in Serbia.
The Memorandum of Understanding will allow for an exchange of staff between the US State Department and the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its signing testifies to the great confidence of the American authorities in their Serbian colleagues.

US Ambassador Christopher Hill: American companies want to invest in Serbia
In early February, in an interview with the Belgrade TV channel K1, US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill told reporters that bilateral trade relations between the countries are improving. The United States has already invested USD 4.5 billion in Serbia.
Economic relations are under the constant control of the American Chamber of Commerce. Since Serbia has decided to continue its path towards European integration and EU membership, American companies are ready to continue investing in a business in Serbia.

US business delegation visit to Belgrade
In mid-February, a delegation of American businesspersons visited Belgrade. The trip was organized by the American-Central European Business Association (ACEBA).
Serbian Ambassador to the United States Marko Duric said that the business delegation visit gave a clear signal of a stable and strong economic situation in Serbia. The American representatives confirmed that Serbia had become a safe and successful investment destination.
Duric told reporters that the US business delegation included such large corporations:

- Pfizer
- Motorola
- Merck
- Oshkosh Defense
- Visa
- Citi
- Palo Alto
- Northrop Grumman.
Representatives of 16 American companies attended the meeting. It is worth noting that at least two of them are manufacturers of military equipment.
In addition, the event was attended by senior officials and ministers of Serbia, responsible for the following areas of the economy:

- military industry
- finance
- energy
- healthcare
- IT.
The second largest trade delegation organized by ACEBA throughout Central and Eastern Europe visited Serbia.
During a meeting with an American business delegation, Serbian Minister of Economy Rade Basta said that his country is ready to provide better conditions for US companies to invest in the Western Balkans. The Ministry of Economy will assist in the implementation of each investment project.
